| ---------------------------------------- | |
| I have no idea what I'm doing. This is my first attempt at phlogging. So, | |
| I guess we'll see how this goes. | |
| I have two more weeks until I need to go back to work. I've been on leave | |
| since Christmas since my wife had a baby a few months ago. Frankly, I'm not | |
| really looking forward to it. During my time off, I've slowly been working | |
| on my project Truck. The engine is pulled, I replaced both the block and | |
| head, which had cracks. When I bought the truck, I told myself if it ever | |
| needed a new engine, I would do an electric vehicle conversion on it. | |
| There is plenty of space under the hood, and I've read about people | |
| installing an array of batteries and hooking them up to a second-hand fork | |
| lift electric motor. I'm sure there is more to it than that, but the thought | |
| of having a plug-in EV 1965 GMC truck was intriguing. I wonder what kind of | |
| power it would output, and if I could really use it as a truck. | |
| As it stands, I'm happy I am rebuilding the gasoline engine. This process | |
| has been a lot of fun, and I'm learning a lot. I find a great sense of self- | |
| sufficiency from doing this kind of work myself. It's a satisfaction that | |
| I don't really get out of my day job. Probably one of the main reasons I'm | |
| not especially looking forward to going back. | |
