Took my youngest son out kayaking today, and he lvoed it!  I think his fav
part was being able to just float for a while, and drift, while
experiencing a small bit of nature.

His favorite part was where we just chilled, and floated for a bit.  I
"caught" him just leaning back, and staring at the sky.  It's a nice
change of pace for him, I'm sure, as he's on the spectrum.  It's like
someone finally pushed the "mute" button for him, and he can actually
take things in, because not nearly as much going on around him.

I was a little surprised he liked it so much, but not really.  I get the
whole "noise everywhere, all the time" thing, and it's why I like kayaing,
camping, and other outdoors stuff.  I finally get a silence.  I'm not even
on the spectrum, and if I feel like that, I don't think I can imagine what
it's like for someone on the spectrum to be surrounded by sensory over-
load all day, every day.

Def going to make this at least a once-per-week thing for him. I think
it'd be good for him.
