2020-12-21 - Softcore humor movies
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I quite enjoy watching softcore humor movies. And i can watch them
multiple times without them boring me. I enjoy softcore humor
movies as a background noise while i'm doing stuff even.
Are "softcore humor movies" even a real genre?? Well, maybe not,
but it should be! Because otherwise i wouldn't know how else to
pinpoint this particular kind of movies.
It's the kind of gentle, easy and simple humorous movies that are
slightly humorous but not overly comical. It's the type of movies
that you'd see for a couple of euros/dollars at a supermarket
around Christmas. But they are not the "Rob Schneider is a carrot"
-type movies. Or American Pie or Jim Carrey kind of humor movies.
They are good natured, easygoing movies. It's like Phil Collins and
Lionel Richie in movie format. You know? Soft and smooth pastel
coloured humor.
I hear you say; Please give an example of a softcore humor movie!?
Well, i think one example is "The terminal" with Tom Hanks. It's a
movie that i enjoy watching (multiple times even). The tone is
quite gentle, the movie is easy to follow, it's slightly humorous,
without trying to be overly comical. A classic softcore humor
movie.
The other day i watched "The Intern", with Robert deNiro.
Everything about it is a softcore humor movie. The story, the pace
and the music. Even the colors and the camerawork are almost
formulaic. It's the kind of movie you'd see in an airplane. Nobody
would be offended by it, and everybody would kind of enjoy
watching it to some degree.
Or what about "Notting Hill", with Hugh Grant? Classic. Or maybe
even better, "No Reservations", (like The Terminal) also with
Catherine Zeta Jones! Also a good softcore humor movie.
Now i think of this, maybe these movies are just called "Feelgood
comedies" or something... Softcore humor movies sounds funnier
though doesn't it? Anyway, i will not feel ashamed of my collection
of softcore humor movies! And neither should you! Huzzah!
