2020-09-13 - Ncurses, autumn and batman
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been dabbling around a (tiny) bit with ncurses and have been
reading on how to make programs with it. It seems a very nice
library to make some more "graphical" CLI programs. On my mind are
a couple of things that i'd like to make; Some ascii drawing
program and maybe a little game or two. I'm still a bit unfocused
though and haven't been able to do much serious programming
unfortunately. Mostly i've been busy playing with example code and
making very small test programs.  Hopefully now autumn is on its
way i'll find a bit more peace and quiet to properly focus on this.

I'm looking forward to learn and mess a bit with the colours of my
terminal and to find ways how to make a nice interface. Every time
i'm typing, i notice how i like the interface of the nano editor.
As i've written before, for me it is a very useful editor; the
bottom of the screen shows me exactly how to do stuff. I don't have
to memorize (m)any commands and it is thus easy to learn. Of course
it is not super elaborate like Vim or Emacs, but those things are
too complex for my simple needs (and mind).

I'm looking forward to autumn really, and i hope for some cold and
rainy weather. Unfortunately, i think next week it's gonna be
nearly 30 degrees Celsius here still... So yeah... that's not the
type of weather you'd want or expect halfway september.

I don't know how it happened that i need cold, rainy nights in
order to be able to focus and sit quietly and think. But those
conditions really help me. Actually, i'd really like to have access
to a very tiny writer's cabin or so in the woods. Far away from
everyhing. Or maybe an underground cellar... Underground dwellings
are the best i think, as they'd really allow yourself to
disconnect and focus. I guess i envy batman now...

What was i doing again? ... Oh yeah trying to focus... hmmm...
