On the 67th anniversary of the 1953 Korean War armistice, North Korea state media released pictures of Kim Jong Un (pictured centre) surrounded by army generals posing with pistols awarded to them to mark the occasion. Despite the country reporting its 'first case' of coronavirus, the generals were all seen in close proximity with one-another, and not wearing masks. In contrast, The South marked the day with a socially distanced ceremony attended by masked veterans, who watched dramatic reconstructions of the war interspersed with interviews with foreign veterans, and messages of support from current leaders of the countries that sent troops to support the South in the conflict which began 70 years ago in 1950.
