| The Alkaline Earth Metals are metallic elements found in Group 2 of | |
| the Periodic Table. All Alkaline Earth Metals are strong reducing | |
| agents, and have an oxidation number of +2, making them very | |
| reactive. These metals are also shiny, lustrous, and good conductors | |
| of heat and electricity. They have low melting points, boiling | |
| points, and densities (but higher than those of Alkali Metals). | |
