# 2025-09-11 - Christina's September Questions
Here are my answers to:
Christina's September questions
> If you had the ability to compete in the Olympics, what event would
> you want to compete in?
I wouldn't want to compete in the Olympics. But if i had to choose,
i suppose i would choose figure skating. I would want to acknowledge
its roots and actually plot figures etched in the ice.
> Growing up, what was your favorite comic strip?
I am not sure i had a favorite. I remember reading Archie & Jughead,
Asterix, B.C., Calvin & Hobbes, Charlie Brown, Garfield,
The Far Side, and The Wizard of Id. A friend was into ElfQuest.
ElfQuest
> Have you dreamed of flying, falling, or running? Describe your most
> vivid memory of one of these dreams.
Yes. Specific dreams are private.
My dreams can be classified in genres. And there are times when i
feel more lucid than others. The dominant theme of my dream life is
disillusionment. I will find something that seems highly desirable,
and spend a lot of energy pursuing it, only to find in the end that
it wasn't what it seemed to be.
> Do you believe in an afterlife?
I neither believe nor disbelieve in an afterlife. The same goes for
reincarnation.
Given the choice, i would definitely choose to reincarnate and i
would definitely choose to go on in the afterlife.
> Do you have any advice, tips, or tricks for differentiating
> ignorance from malice?
I like the ideal of assuming positive intent: that behind every
action there is a positive intention if you dig deep enough.
From Wikipedia:
> One of Satir's most novel ideas at the time was that the
> "presenting issue" or "surface problem" itself was seldom the real
> problem; rather, how people coped with the issue created the
> problem.
Virginia Satir
But that's the ideal. In the personal realm, my answer is:
communication. After communicating that you have been harmed, if the
other person(s) deny it, dismiss it, and attempt to silence you, then
regardless of intent, they are acting maliciously. The answer to the
dog whistle is the duck test.
