June Howard describes her property in Sunshine Canyon and |
|
its history, including that of the Pilot Mine, Casa Loma |
|
cabin and Cottonwood cabin. Her narrative is accompanied |
|
by illustrations from the book she wrote called, Stories |
|
of Sunshine: Life in a Mining Camp. She recalls how her |
|
family acquired the properties, her and her family's |
|
visits to the site, the horses she kept there, plants and |
|
animals that were seen in earlier times, and gives an |
|
account of structures that remain and those that were |
|
burned in the September 2010 Fourmile Fire. |
