Montgomery County Civil Rights Coalition held a forum |
|
about the indefinite military detention provisions of the |
|
NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act for 2012) at the |
|
Takoma Park Community Center. Speakers included Heather |
|
Hurlburt, executive director of the National Security |
|
Network and Shahid Buttar, executive director of the Bill |
|
of Rights Defense Committee; the forum was moderated by |
|
Eric Bond of the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Voice. The |
|
forum in Takoma Park is part of a campaign to pass a city |
|
council resolution calling for repeal of the NDAA's |
|
indefinite detention provisions, and expiration of the |
|
2001 Authorization of Use of Military Force at the end of |
|
