There is a new sheriff in town...or in Perry County! |

And he has quite a tough act to follow. |

James Hood has been the sheriff there since 1978. |
|
Thats's 36 years and 9 terms. |
|
He made history in 1978 being the youngest sheriff to be |
|
elected in Alabama at the age of 28 as well as being the |
|
state's first African American sheriff. |
|
Billy Jones will begin his first term in office January |
|
17, 2015. |
