This booklet explains the significance and backstory of
many of the fascinating features of the Washington
Memorial
Chapel[1] at Valley Forge, PA.
Although it is undated, the rectorship of John Robbins
Hart (1937-65) and status of the Carillon at the time of
writing (42 bells added so far out of the eventual 58,
and no mention of the stone belltower which did not begin
construction until 1941) indicate that it was written in
the year 1940.
