this week we are paying tribute to two legendary people |

in the music business Jim Stewart the president of |
|
Stax/Volt Records who had the honor to record such |
|
legendary artists like Isaac Hayes, Sam & Dave, The |
|
Barkays, The Mar-Keys, Johnny Taylor, Carla Thomas, |
|
Rufas, Thomas and let's not forget the biggest legendary |
|
artist that we lost way too soon in to his career Otis |
|
Redding, and our second tribute we're paying to legendary |
|
singer/songwriter Barrett Strong who wrote some major |
|
hits for Motown including the hit he made huge himself |
|
"money that's what I want" which was only not a hit for |
|
him but for the Beatles and The Kingsmen just to name a |
|
couple and Barrett also wrote mega hits for Marvin Gaye |
|
"I Heard It Through The Grapevine", The Temptations "Papa |
|
Was A Rolling Stone", "Just My Imagination Running Away |
|
With Me", "I Can't Get Next To You" those are just the |
|
tip of the iceberg for the mega hits and mega artists he |
|
wrote for. |
