History of the State College (VHS Tape from Coleman
Museum)
This video was digitized from a video tape that was
assembled (probably during the Ellendale Centennial
Celebration of 1892), from
clips of film that appear to have been taken between the
late 1930s and the mid
1950s. It shows most of the buildings on
the campus, has scenes of students walking between
buildings, and shows scenes
from a homecoming parade and a football game. It also
shows scenes from inside
a chemistry lab and manual arts shop.
The State Normal and Industrial School at Ellendale
operated
between 1899 and 1971, and was replaced by Trinity Bible
Institute after being
closed by the state legislature subject to a crippling
January 1970 fire that
destroyed the two central buildings on campus.

knowledge about scenes or
individuals or events in this video, please email
