This is a model of a Dirae - a character from my book |
|
Ouroboros. I've tried to model it as a single piece print |
|
but the design is far from ideal for that. (There are |
|
also some subtle differences between the photo's, digital |
|
image and the model as I eventually gave up trying to |
|
correct the errors in the Blender model and remade the |
|
whole body from scratch. Plus my physical copy had |
|
separate legs but it was a real pain to glue them |
|
accurately into a good supporting position.) |
|
I've slightly enlarged the base model and added a small |
|
version. Besides the overall size reduction this version |
|
has greatly reduced hollows in the leg segments. I'm |
|
still trying it out but this should help produce a solid |
|
print. |
|
It will need support and I'd recommend a thickish wall |
|
and good infil. (The body has a hollow to save filament |
|
and weight.) |
