First all, I love this camera. Connect to a RX/TX pad and
you have full control from your OSD. Second I love this
frame, I have beat the heck out of it and it flies like a
dream. Ok on to this mount.
I really like the carbon fiber sides of the AstroX X5.
They really protect your gear and keep it a little
cleaner inside. However I wanted to mount this camera and
keep the carbon sides but unfortunately it is only 19mm
wide. I tried spacers and that works great, however, I
was constantly having to tighten the camera and
reposition after a crash. That is no fun. So, my new
holder has a fixed 20 degrees of up-tilt (freestyle
version, 30 on my race version) and moves the camera a
little forward to get a little better field of view
(remember this cam will do 16:9). I added a capacitor
mount inside because their is plenty of room to keep it
from rattling around. However, you can clip this out if
this is where your VTX or TX resides, or stick a beeper
in there.
As always please suggest changes and keep up to date by
joining my facebook group for FPV.
