This thing is a housing for 3x 6.35mm (2 used only)
female connectors (plug) often used in many washing
machines and other machines made by LG Electronics. Those
plugs can be found in similar products with several other
brand names as well. | |
This time the used filter type is Tyco SZ 06021 but you
will find a number of similar filters as well.
The plug housing has been simplified to meet my need
connecting the power line filter with the controller
board or other internal device.
After printing the thing:
Crimp the wires to the two female connectors.
Flatten out the small flexible notches that afix the
female connector with the male blade connector (on the
board). | |
Otherwise you will not be able to remove the plug from
the controller board later on.
The two used connectors have to be fed in from the front
opening instead of the back.
Feed in one wire from the front toward the back side.
Heat up the female connector (clamp) with a torch or
heatgun slightly so it can soften the plastic a bit when
you have pushed it in , do this the next step.
Drag the wire commeing out of the back opening and push
in the femal connector at the same time now.
Having a car lamp H4 pluged into the female connector
helps to find the right position.
Adjust the dived in connector until the base of the lamp
hits the front of the housing.
Let cool down the connector before removing the helping
H4 lamp then. | |
Repeat the procedure for the other connector.
See the pictures I have added. Warming up not shown.
Remember: it is allways a good practice to fasten the
plug using some silicone or hot glue, you know? Don't let
it slip away. | |
Please note : this not a genuine qualified replacement
for the stock parts. | |
If you are unsure about using electronics esp. working
with high voltage from the mains, do not repair your
appliance. | |
Ask qualified persons for help.
The pictures are showing off the earlier made plug v2:
