I have a modified BQ Hephestos at home. Sometimes the
print-area is too small and the moving y-axis is not
optimal for printing bigger parts.
I started to design a new printer, which will fit my
needs in the future. There are a lot of CoreXY printers,
but few with prusa-axis.
For stiffness and squareness I use ITEM aluminium
extrusion profiles.
I wanted the x-carriage multifunctional, so I attached
electrical connectors, which I can use for 1 or 2
extruders, or even for a laser (plug and play like).
All guides are 12mm and the Z-threads are TR8x2. The side
plates of the x-axis are planed as acrylic plates.
The system looks a little bit heavy, but I'm not printing
at high speeds.
