The Sea Shadow (IX-529) was an experimental stealth ship |
|
built in 1984 by Lockheed for the United States Navy to |
|
determine how a low radar profile might be achieved and |
|
to test high stability hull configurations which have |
|
been used in oceanographic ships. The Sea Shadow was |
|
revealed to the public in 1993 and unfortunately was |
|
scrapped in 2012. |
|
|
|
This model of the Sea Shadow excludes the bulky pontoone |
|
twin hulls that supported the ship beneath the water - |
|
they just don't look so cool. |
