The Regis Jesuit Wall of Excellence located in the boys
division lunch room, has years of history. With names
like Clark Smith, an Olympic gold medalist,
Kale Lone, a recently graduated hockey team captain who
led the team in points, and Klint Kubiak, son of Gary
Kubiak quarterback coach of the Minnesota Vikings. Being
on the wall of Excellence at Regis Jesuit is an honor.
With 229 athletes the wall is bound to have some history.
Every person on the wall has accomplished something
incredible in there sport to be put on the wall. To be
put on the wall you need to be all state or all American
( swimming you need to win state along with all-state or
all American) in your respective sport.
The first person ever put on the wall was Pete Chapman a
football player who went on to play at Northwestern and
earn a 3.45 GPA there. He paved the way for hundreds of
more athletes to be put on the wall. Although we already
talked about the few people that were very successful
after their high school career there are still hundreds
of athletes that excelled in their sport in high school.
The future of the wall is pretty much unclear. With so
many athletes and so little space it is very likely that
the wall will be moved to a different location with more
space. Even thought the future of the wall is unclear the
tradition of the Wall of Excellence here at Regis Jesuit
will live forever.
