Kalamazoo Public Safety Officer Eric Zapata served the |
|
community for ten years before he was shot and killed in |
|
2011 while assisting a fellow officer under fire. He was |
|
the first officer lost in the line of duty in the City of |
|
Kalamazoo. He will not be forgotten by the community. In |
|
June, a memorial in his honor was dedicated on the |
|
Kalamazoo Mall. |
