Cute 'n' Cuddlies
Release Notes (25/7/93)
1. How to install
-----------------
From Windows Program Manager, choose 'Run'
from the 'File' menu and type
D:\\INSTALL (Using the drive letter of
your CD-ROM in place of 'D')
The installation program creates a Program
Manager icon for Cute 'n' Cuddlies, and also
installs QuickTime for Windows V1.1 on your
system for playback of video clips.
Once completed, simply double-click on the
Cute 'n' Cuddlies icon to start.
2. Technical Details
--------------------
To install QuickTime for Windows, the install
program requires about 1.1Mb of free space on
your hard drive.
The install program copies the appropriate
files to \\QTW\\BIN on your hard disk. Once this
has been done, it lets Windows know about
QuickTime by writing to SYSTEM.INI, WIN.INI and
CONTROL.INI. It then adds an appropriate path
to the PATH statement in your AUTOEXEC.BAT and
reboots the computer. You are then ready to run
Cute 'n' Cuddlies.
3. Changing AUTOEXEC.BAT manually
---------------------------------
If, for some reason, the install program cannot
update your AUTOEXEC.BAT file automatically, the
program will tell you to add a given path
manually.
Backup your AUTOEXEC.BAT and CONFIG.SYS files to
a floppy disk before making any changes, just as
a precaution.
(1) Use a text editor to load the AUTOEXEC.BAT
file, and look for a line that begins with
'SET PATH=...' or 'PATH ...'
(2) Add the new path to the end of this line by
typing a semicolon (;) then the given path
name (usually C:\\QTW\\BIN)
(3) Save the file, then reboot the computer. You
are now ready to run Cute 'n' Cuddlies.
