Note: Due to original recording and/or condition when
digitized: high background noise, static, phasing, speed
fluctuation, warble and distortion at times, such as at
the end of the recording.
In the wake of the October 17, 1989 Loma Prieta
Earthquake, Caltrans commissioned an oral history project
to document the personal and professional experiences of
Caltrans employees who worked to restore the State's
damaged transportation system. At the time of this
recording Ed Pang was an Associate Environmental Planner
for Caltrans District 4. This interview is about his
experience of Loma Prieta earthquake at Candlestick Park
for the third game of the World Series from his seats
behind the dugout and driving in San Francisco afterwards.
