This week's "LIVE with," our last from the fabulous |

Jake's on 6th Wine Bar before we move to our new Monday |
|
night studio, we learned all things Family Matters, |
|
Latino Services & Positive Action from Center volunteer |
|
extraordinaire, Frank Jones, aka Papa Frank. A Military |
|
veteran who's lived in San Diego for 30+ years, Papa |
|
Frank is "the man" behind the women of Family Matters & |
|
Latino Services at the Center. Frank filled us in on what |
|
these vital programs provide our community and shared |
|
with us some important events and activities he's |
|
involved with, including the Kids Clothing & Toy Swap, |
|
Big LGBT Community Yard Sale, Dining Out For Life, |
|
Positive Action workshop series, men's & women's HIV+ |
|
support services for the LGBT & military communities and |
|
the monthly community food distribution. We got a very |
|
sincere, personal sense of the true value of "community" |
|
listening to Frank share his experience working with LGBT |
|
families who've been affected by these hard economic |
|
times. Thanks Frank for being our guest and thanks to |
|
Jennifer, Richard, Jake, Mama & the entire Jake's on 6th |
|
Family for being such wonderful Monday night hosts. We'll |
|
be back soon, so save some vino for us! |
