Here are the Tikkun ha Klali [Repair of Everything], the
Psalms for Kabbalat Shabbat, the "Shir ha MaAlot" -
"Songs of Ascents" and the Morning Blessings.
Tikkun haKlali consists of Psalms 16, 32, 40, 41, 42, 59,
77, 90, 105, 137, 150. This series of Tehillim is called
the "Great Remedy," and was identified by the great Rabbi
Nachman, z"tzl. These 10 are said to represent the entire
sefer Tehillim. This reading is mostly for my learning
purposes at this point; once I know this series better
I'll redo them. [8/05/08 - problems with the new audio -
repairs when I get time]
Well.... TWO YEARS later [8/06/10 almost to the day!] I'm
posting a new reading of THK. This one is 9 minutes
shorter. [For you gematriya freaks: the first is 32
minutes and the second is 23 -].
The goal is to eventually make them into a series of
movies like the other psalms and things I've done, which
are posted at http://youtube.com/sharbinah...
The Kabbalat Shabbat file is just the psalms from this
service, and omits Lecha Dodi, Ke'Gavna, and many other
segments. These are Psalms 95-99, 29, 92 and 93.
The Birchat Ha Shachar is Nusach Sefard, from Reshit
Chochma to the first part of the Korbanos.
The "Shir Ha Ma Alot" are the 15 Psalms 120-134 that
begin with the words "Shir ha Ma Alot." These are read on
Shabbat afternoon in the winter months, and were read
during the pilgrimage festivals at the Temple in
Jerusalem.
The "Shacharit ~ Yom Revii" clips include some of the new
developments in our davening. For Adon Olam, Yigdal, Ana
B'Koach, and other places, we employ deep breath practice
by emptying the lungs completely with the words and then
drawing full breaths through the nostrils for the next
words/exhalation. Adon Olam, etc. lend themselves
naturally to this, because each verse is the same length
and same number of syllables. We also emphasize the
common verse endings, e.g. each verse of Adon Olam ends
with the "ra" sound; each verse of Yigdal ends with an
"so" [or "tow"] sound.
"Shacharit - Kitzur" is a shorter version, still
including the crucial psalms and blessings. It includes a
"chapter headings" reading of the amidah, since the live
recording had 9 minutes or so of just silence and pages
turning.
In other places we are reading Hebrew [me] and English
[Will] simultaneously. We use the Artscroll Sefard
siddur, both interlinear and traditional, so we are
careful to match the English and Hebrew words in real
time.
We daven on Wednesdays, Yom Revii - day 4 [of Shabbat],
so near the end we read Psalm 94. This clip is 1 hour and
40 minutes long.
Curate note: Judaic content.
