Tonight s episode of Labor Express, the first of 2019, is |

a sort of look back at a few of the highlights of the |
|
year just passed. As well as a possible preview of coming |
|
attractions for the new year. |

First we have have audio from a newly released Labor Beat |
|
TV video of a informational picket by airport workers in |
|
Chicago who work for Envoy, formerly known as American |
|
Eagle. These members of the Communication Workers of |
|
America (CWA) have been fighting for a first contract for |
|
over two years. Their fight will now need to continue in |
|
2019. Later in the program will hear from several workers |
|
who took part in a end of the year 2018 labor struggle |
|
highlights webinar organized by Labor Notes including a |
|
teacher at the Acero Charter School network in Chicago, |
|
and a hotel worker from Hawaii, a member of UNITE-HERE. |
|
Both the Acero strike and the hotel workers strike were |
|
important victories for organized labor in 2018 we |
|
covered extensively here on Labor Express. |
