CA Supreme Court Nominee - Gov. Jerry Brown has nominated
Stanford Law Professor to the California Supreme Court.
Mariano-Florentino Cuellar is a Mexican-born Stanford Law
School professor who was a special assistant for justice
and regulatory policy in the Obama White House in 2009
and 2010. Veteran journalist Leo McElroy has witnessed
the evolution of California's current governor and he
joins us to talk about this latest appointment and what
it will mean for the currently makeup of the California
Supreme Court.
Sacratomato Week - California is a major producer of
tomatoes, and in order to celebrate them, a group of
Sutter District bars, cafes and restaurants will feature
creative drinks and dishes. The public is invited to
visit the local businesses and taste new recipes for the
week which highlight the flourishing commodity for local
farmers and chefs.
Food Literacy Center - New data shows that the Food
Literacy Center, formerly the California Food Literacy
Center, is having a positive impact in South Sacramento
with its educational curriculum.
The Kimberly Trip - The Kimberly Trip is an intentionally
small-scale "power-pop" band out of Sacramento. Their 9th
album, "I'm All Out of Bubblegum," will be released on
July 25 at Concerts in the Park, their first appearance
at a large venue of its kind and will be their 500th
show. They've sold over 10,000 albums in the greater
Sacramento area and charted 2 top-10 singles in Brazil.
