This is the broadcast for Equalizing-X-Distort for Sunday |
|
May 31st, 2020. EXD is a weekly hardcore punk show |
|
broadcast on CIUT 89.5 FM. These shows are being |
|
programmed a few days earlier so this show was programmed |
|
before America started blowing up from the George Floyd |
|
murder. But we do start the show with a cover of the |
|
famous anti-racist dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson. And |
|
there are some great new archival releases along with |
|
great contemporary punk releases which culminate in a top |
|
10 for April 2020 in punk. The rest of the sets are |
|
anchored around releases that didn't make it into the top |
|
10 but most of the show features bands that released |
|
something last month (or was reviewed in MRR's review |
|
section for April). And we finish up with Ultra Razzia's |
|
side of the split with Dead Hero. Ultra Razzia are a |
|
great new band from Montreal made up of members from the |
|
