This is the broadcast for Equalizing-X-Distort for Sunday
May 31st, 2020. EXD is a weekly hardcore punk show
broadcast on CIUT 89.5 FM. These shows are being
programmed a few days earlier so this show was programmed
before America started blowing up from the George Floyd
murder. But we do start the show with a cover of the
famous anti-racist dub poet Linton Kwesi Johnson. And
there are some great new archival releases along with
great contemporary punk releases which culminate in a top
10 for April 2020 in punk. The rest of the sets are
anchored around releases that didn't make it into the top
10 but most of the show features bands that released
something last month (or was reviewed in MRR's review
section for April). And we finish up with Ultra Razzia's
side of the split with Dead Hero. Ultra Razzia are a
great new band from Montreal made up of members from the
Prowlers. For a full playlist see the reviews section.
