This report presents data on the distribution of minority |
|
group students and staff in the public schools of |
|
Connecticut. The five groups differentiated are White, |
|
Black, Hispanic, Asian American, and American Indian. A |
|
narrative of the report's highlights is followed by seven |
|
graphs which show percentages of minority and nonminority |
|
staff in Connecticut schools from 1975 to 1984. Eleven |
|
statistical tables are provided, which give 1984 data on |
|
(1-3) minority students by type of community, by grade, |
|
and by school district; (4) minority students in |
|
vocational/technical schools; (5) Project Concern (a |
|
program for disadvantaged, urban students in Bridgeport, |
|
Hartford, and New Haven); (6) growth rates of minority |
|
enrollment of five percent or greater; (7) ranking of |
|
towns by number of minority students; and (8-10) minority |
|
staff in Connecticut by type of community, by school |
|
district, and in vocational/technical schools; and the |
|
final table (11) illustrates trends in minority group |
|
students and staff in the Connecticut public schools from |
|
