Classical models of sphere geometry facilitate an
efficient description of canal surfaces. Using the
cyclographic model of Laguerre geometry, an elementary
characterization of continuity, bisectors, control point-
, control sphere- and implicit representations of canal
surfaces is presented. In addition, canal surfaces
generated with the aid of Minkowski Pythagorean hodograph
curves are investigated.
