We present second-year results from a two-year study on a | |
novel, inexpensive, passive, wireless solution for | |
performing nondestructive evaluation on the structural | |
integrity of aging aircraft. Electro-mechanical resonant | |
phenomena in barium strontium titanate thin films have | |
been thoroughly investigated using microwave reflectivity | |
spectroscopy. Additionally, piezoelectric lead zirconate | |
titanate thin films have been electrically characterized | |
in terms of capacitance and dielectric loss tangent. | |
Finally, we have explored the integration of such devices | |
into a detection system involving piezoelectric wafer | |
active transducers. | |
