The dissertation begins with the uses of innovation, how
it can and should be generated and to what heights it
might aspire. Then turning his attention to knowledge-
based systems such as computer technology, the author
reveals the current state of research in that field,
including artificial intelligence and expert systems, and
how creativity and contradiction orientation promote
development. The middle section of the dissertation
focuses on innovation as it helps re-mold expert systems
and integral systems, respectively. Ensuing findings
concern knowledge acquisition and the application
environment, both of which are used as variables in the
final chapter, which features an experimental model. The
