The design, construction, and integration of a computer |

controlled dc electric transmission in a 300 hp, 14 ton, |
|
M113 vehicle are described. The electric transmission was |
|
designed and built using off-the-shelf components: Bendix |
|
12,000 r/min aircraft ac generators, rectifiers, Mawdsley |
|
5,400 r/min dc traction motors, pulse width modulation |
|
motor field current controllers, and FMC two speed final |
|
drives. Tracked vehicles, test beds, drive-by-wire, |
|
electric drive, microcomputer control. |
|
