This study evaluates the feasibility of installing a coal |
|
gasification/combined cycle cogeneration plant at Sewells |
|
Point Naval Complex, Norfolk, Virginia. The study |
|
addresses current gasification technology, combined cycle |
|
thermodynamics, environmental control requirements, and |
|
conventional coal fired cogeneration cycles. The utility |
|
interface, site considerations and economic analyses are |
|
also presented. The study includes that a coal |
|
gasification/combined cycle cogeneration plant supplying |
|
50 MW of electric power and 290,000 lb/hr of steam is |
|
technically feasible. (Author) |
