Optical aerosol counters are used to measure aerosol |
|
spectra and thence to calculate the aerosol contribution |
|
of optical extinction. This report contains the results |
|
of field experiments and laboratory investigations of the |
|
performance of the NPS spectrometers. Areas of concern in |
|
the use of these spectrometers and the subsequent |
|
calculations are identified and discussed. In general the |
|
spectrometer performance is adequate for use in |
|
predicting the performance of overocean optical systems. |
