This study is an empirical investigation of the economic |
|
effect of regulations imposed by EPA and OSHA on the |
|
ferrous foundry industry. Its inception was motivated by |
|
expressed concern of some officials in DIRSO and OASD/MRA |
|
and L about the impact of federal environmental, health, |
|
and safety legislation on firms comprising the defense |
|
industrial base. The econometric methodology employed |
|
consists of statistical estimation of the parameters of |
|
various supply-and-demand models of the market for iron |
|
and steel castings. |
