A survey of the availability of ionospheric D-region |
|
electron density data has been completed and is reported |
|
here. A table which lists 45 world locations where lower |
|
ionospheric electron density profiles have been obtained |
|
is included. The availability of electron density data is |
|
interpreted in terms of the general global distribution |
|
and in terms of both intermediate and long-path high |
|
frequency (3 to 30 MHz) Army communications channels. |
|
World maps are also included which serve to illustrate |
|
localities where D-region data have been recorded and |
|
world sections and paths where high frequency |
|
communications channels are currently active. (Author) |
