In Homesickness, A quiet night in a local pub is | |

Colin Barrett is from County Mayo, Ireland. His debut | |
collection Young Skins won the Rooney Prize for Irish | |
Literature, the Frank O Connor International Short Story | |
Award, the Guardian First Book Award, and was a National | |
Book Foundation 5 Under 35 Honoree. From 2018-20 he was | |
the Rolex Arts Initiative Literary Protege, mentored by | |
Colm T n. His stories have appeared in the New Yorker, | |
the Stinging Fly, New Statesman, Harper s Magazine, and | |
on BBC Radio 4. | |
Colin Barrett will be in conversation with Molly | |
McCloskey, author most recently of the novel Straying. | |
Molly lived in Ireland for 25 years before settling in | |
D.C. in 2014. Her books have twice been shortlisted at | |
the annual Irish Books Awards, and she has won awards for | |
her short stories, including a 2021 Pushcart Prize for A | |
Little Like God, published in McSweeney s. Her work has | |
appeared in the Guardian (UK), the Irish Times, the Los | |
Angeles Review of Books, the Dublin Review, and elsewhere. | |
