A major activist pop-up show featuring an art exhibit and |
|
panel discussions called Into Action is taking place in |
|
Los Angeles this week and we'll be bringing you coverage |
|
from the event space this week and next. We'll begin |
|
today's show with a conversation with the event's |
|
executive producer Yosi Sargent, known for commissioning |
|
and managing the 2008 "Hope" poster by Shepherd Fairey |
|
and who has now set his sights on art as a tool for |
|
cultural and social transformation. Then we'll turn to |
|
one of the Into Action panelists, Christian Picciolini, a |
|
former white supremacist who is sounding the alarm on neo- |
|
Nazi groups in the US and co-founded the group Life After |
|
Hate. Finally, we'll turn to author Philip Ackerman-Leist |
|
to discuss his new book, A Precautionary Tale: How One |
|
Small Town Banned Pesticides, Preserved its Food |
|
Heritage, and Inspired a Movement. |
