We have a feature interview with Kevin
Walby an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Sociology at the
University of Victoria. In the book Critical Criminology
in
Canada, New Voices, New Directions, published in 2011 by
UBC
Press,Walby contributed an essay titled: Anarcho-
Abolition:
a Challenge of Conservative and Liberal Criminology. In
our
interview with Kevin Walby we will discuss his article as
well as
other subjects, such as: What is Critical Criminology?
and police
profiling of activists.

birthdays are spent behind bars. Today, we re sharing the
dates of
birthdays of North American Political
Prisoners that take place in the month
of May. This information is obtained from sources in the
US. Many of
these political prisoners have languished
inside for years, often decades. It should be noted that
this list is
not necessarily complete.
News from Ohio State Penitentiary about
the 3 out of the Lucasville 5 who are presently on death
row,
Imam Hasan, Keith LaMar (also known as Bomani Shakur) and
Jason Robb
along with prisoner Gregory Curry who is sentenced to
Life in Prison,
were on a hunger strike since April 11th which is also the
20th anniversary of the Lucasville rebellion.
We also have an interview, Life from
Death Row, with Imam Hasan, on the hunger strike that
ended Monday
May 6.
