A one-day seminar was arranged for the Associates of the |
|
Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. Kakinada. The |
|
topics chosen were: Work Life Balance and Time |
|
Management. These two topics are intimately connected, in |
|
the sense, that better time management leads to better |
|
work-life balance. Hence, the justification. |
|
|
|
Balance is a very important concept. Balancing different, |
|
may be conflicting, aspects involves a better |
|
understanding, willingness to adjust, prioritize, may be |
|
compromise, sometimes, postpone for the present, and so |
|
on. The generally perceived conflict between personal |
|
life and career must be positively appreciated, to begin |
|
with. Issues such as, What is Work, What is Life, Why |
|
Balance, What happens if we do not or cannot balance, the |
|
consequences and the ill effects of an imbalance and more |
|
importantly how to approach the problem of balance have |
|
been touched upon. To suit the nature of the topic and |
|
the indicated preference of the participants, the seminar |
|
was mainly conducted in Telugu, with English being used |
|
for the power point presentation. |
|
|
|
Time Management: the need for which is generally felt, |
|
but the techniques and the advantages of better time |
|
management are generally not cared for. Knowing the very |
|
special value of time, and more particularly, how the |
|
many successful people have understood and practice the |
|
art and science of time management, it is hoped will |
|
create better interest in the participants. How to go |
|
about realizing the importance, how to handle, are some |
|
of the aspects, that have been touched upon. |
