                   Chicken Fried Tofu With Cream Gravy

 Amount  Measure       Ingredient -- Preparation Method

    1/4   c            Olive oil
  3       cl           Garlic
    1/4   c            Tamari
    1/2   c            Bread crumbs
  1       lb           Tofu (firm or x-firm)
                       White Sauce:
  2       tb           Flour
  2       tb           Butter
  1       c            Milk -- hot, scalded
  2       ds           Tabasco
                       Salt

 Preheat a 400°F oven.

 Slice tofu in 1/4 to 1/2" slices.  Put first three ingredients in
 blender and run for a bit on high speed. Marinate tofu sliced in
 ixture for about 15 minutes on a side. Dredge slices in bread
 crumbs. Bake on cookie sheet for 15 minutes per side.

 White sauce:

 Make roux of flour and butter. Cook for a couple of minutes. Add
 1 cup of hot, scalded milk. Bring to boil. Reduce heat, add salt
 and tabasco.

 Suggested: Serve with rice
