                             Pastry Snails

    3/4  c             Flour
  1      ds            Salt
    1/4  c             Shortening
  2      tb            Water -- cold
  6      oz            Deviled ham
  1      tb            Mustard
                       Pickle relish -- if desired

Sift flour and salt together. Cut in shortening. Add cold water and
work into stiff dough. Refrigerate for 1/2 hour. Then roll to very
thin rectangle on top of waxed paper. Spread with a mixture of the
deviled ham, mustard and relish. Roll as for jelly roll. Freeze.

When ready to serve, slice thin. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes. Serve
hot.

Yield: 50 Slices
