                             Meat Loaf Ring

  8      sl            Bacon
  2      c             Raw carrot
  2      c             Raw potato
  1 1/2  c             Onion -- minced
  1      lb            Mushroom -- sliced
  4      lb            Ground chuck
  4                    Eggs
  1      tb            Salt
    1/8  ts            Pepper
  2      ts            Marjoram
  2      ts            Basil
  2      ts            Thyme
  1      c             Catsup
  4      ts            Lemon juice
  2      ts            Worcestershire sauce
    2/3  c             Milk
  1      ts            Ground cloves
                       Mashed potatoes -OR-
                       - green vegetable

Grease well two 2 q ring molds. Line with bacon. Grind carrot and
potato. Saute onions mushrooms and ground chuck. Combine with eggs,
salt, pepper, marjoram, basil, thyme, catsup, lemon juice,
Worcestershire sauce, milk, and ground cloves. Mix well, but lightly.
Fill ring molds and freeze.

To Serve:

Defrost, cover with aluminum foil and bake 2 hours at 350°F with ring
set in pan of water. Unmold and serve with center filled with mashed
potatoes or green vegetable.
