                           Hearty Tuna Melts

  6 1/8  oz            Water packed tuna --
                       - drained and flaked
    1/3  c             Fat-free mayonnaise
    1/2  c             Celery -- chopped
    1/3  c             Green pepper -- chopped
  2      tb            Ripe olives -- chopped
    1/4  ts            Dried thyme -- crushed
  6      sl            Dark rye bread
  6      sl            Fat-free process cheese

Heat oven to 350°F. Combine tuna, mayonnaise, celery, green pepper,
olives, and thyme; mix lightly.

For each sandwich, top bread slice wtih 1/4 cup tuna mixture; cover
with slice of cheese. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or broil until
cheese melts.

Yield: 6 Sandwiches
