MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: English Scones
Categories: Breads, Fruits
     Yield: 10 servings

     2 c  A-P flour
   1/2 c  Sugar
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/4 c  Cold butter; in cubes
     1 c  Raisins
   1/2 c  Whole milk
     1 lg Egg
          Additional milk

 Set oven @ 425°F/218°C.

 In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder.
 Cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir
 in raisins. Whisk milk and egg; add to dry ingredients,
 stirring lightly.

 Turn onto a lightly floured surface; roll to 1"
 thickness. Cut with a 2 1/2" biscuit cutter. Place on a
 greased baking sheet. Bake until golden brown, 10-15
 minutes. Serve warm.
