2 lb Pears -- halved
1 tb Lemon juice
3 tb Flour
1 c Sugar
1 ds Salt
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1 tb Butter
1 c Flour
1/4 c Cheese -- shredded
1/2 ts Salt
1/3 c Butter
2 tb Water -- up to 3 tb, cold
Place pears in 1-1/2 qt casserole. Sprinkle with lemon juice. Combine
next 5 ingredients. Sprinkle over pears. Dot with butter. Cover with
Cheddar Cheese Pastry, crimping to sides of dish. Cut slits in top.
Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes or until pears are tender.
Cheddar Cheese Pastry:
Combine flour and salt. Cut in butter and cheese. Sprinkle with
water. Shape into a ball and roll out to cover top of pie.
