MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Rocky's Pumpkin Cookies
Categories: Cookies
     Yield: 1 Batch

   1/2 c  Shortening
   1/2 c  Brown sugar
   1/2 c  White sugar
     1    Eggs; up to 2
     1 c  Pumpkin
   1/2 ts Salt
     1 ts Vanilla
     2 c  Flour
     1 ts Baking powder
     1 ts Soda
     1 ts Cinnamon
          Ginger; cloves, allspice
          - (optional)
     1 c  Raisins, dates, or
          - coconut -OR-
   1/2 c  Nuts (optional)

 Cream shortening and sugars until fluffy. Add eggs, pumpkin, salt, and
 vanilla; mix. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, and spices.
 Add to mixture. Add raisins, dates, coconut, or nuts as desired. Drop
 by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10
 minutes. Enjoy.

 I always double this recipe. The cookies only get better each day if
 they last that long!
