MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Whipped Shortbread Cookies
Categories: Five, Cookies, Snacks, Desserts
     Yield: 96 Cookies

     3 c  Butter; softened
 1 1/2 c  Confectioners' sugar;
          - sifted
 4 1/2 c  A-P flour
 1 1/2 c  Corn starch
          Nonpareils and/or halved
          - candied cherries

 In a large bowl, cream butter and confectioners' sugar until light
 and fluffy, 3 to 4 minutes. Gradually add flour and corn starch,
 beating until well blended.

 With hands lightly dusted with additional corn starch, roll dough
 into 1" balls. Place 1 in. apart on ungreased baking sheets. Press
 lightly with a floured fork. Top with nonpareils or cherry halves.

 Bake @ 300°F/150°C until bottoms are lightly browned, 20 to
 22 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from pans to wire
 racks.
