MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Abraham Lincoln's Apricot Tea Cookies

     Yield: 24 Servings

     2 c  Unsalted butter; softened
   3/4 c  Sugar
     2 lg Eggs; beaten
     5 c  Flour
     2 ts Baking powder
   1/2 ts Salt
     1 c  Sliced almonds; toasted
 1 1/4 c  Apricot preserves
 1 1/2 c  Coconut, toasted
   1/2 c  Apricot jam

 Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
 Add eggs.

 In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and
 salt. Add to butter mixture. Add almonds, preserves
 and coconut.

 Wrap dough in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at
 least 1 hour.

 Oven @ 350°F/175°C.

 Shape dough into 1" balls, and place 1" apart on
 ungreased cookie sheet. Press thumb into the center
 of each ball. Place 1/4-1/2 teaspoon jam into center
 of each impression. Bake for 12-15 minutes.
