MMMMM----- Recipe via Meal-Master (tm) v8.06

     Title: Minnie's Boiled Spice Cake
Categories: Cakes
     Yield: 1 Cake

     1 c  Brown sugar
     1 c  White sugar
     1 ts Cinnamon
     1 ts Cloves
     1 ts Nutmeg
   1/2 ts Salt
     2 c  Raisins
 2 1/2 c  Water
     1 c  Lard or shortening
     4 c  Flour
     1 ts Soda; heaping; dissolved in:
          Hot water; a little
   1/2 c  Nuts; or more if desired

 Boil sugars, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, salt, raisins, water, and lard
 for 6 minutes; let cool. Add flour, soda, and nuts. Pour into 9x13"
 pan. Bake 1 hour at 350°F.

 Plain with whipped cream or brown sugar frosting.
